Best Nook Covers and Cases for 1st and 2nd generation Nooks
The Nook is the ereader that uses e-Ink technology and now comes in 2 different versions:
- first edition: features a color navigational bar toward the bottom of the device, rectangular in shape
- second edition: the entire reading screen is also a touchscreen, more square in shape
They are both black and white ereaders, which means the eInk used allows you read ebooks just like a book. With color screens, you can see them very well in bright sunlight as the screen will wash out (problem with the NookCOLOR). However, with e-Ink technology of the Nook, it is just like reading a book and won’t cause any eye strain. The most popular ereaders on the market today are those that use e-Ink technology for this very reason.
The nook doesn’t come with any protective cases, so you’ll have to look into nook covers on your own. Barnes and Noble’s website sells them as well as Amazon.
